Last thursday (and friday) I went to the excellent Future of Web Apps conference @ Excel, London. Thought I'd share a few of the highlights with you:

Surviving Outside Silicon Valley - Michael Galpert (Aviary), Andy McLoughlin (Huddle)

The Future of your Online Presence - Bret Taylor, FriendFeed

The Fear Factor - Tim Bray

The Future of Social App Interface Design - Alvin Woon (Plurk)

There are a couple of others which haven't been uploaded to the Carsonified site yet so I'll add them when they're ready.

    albertob says:

The "Fear Factor" one, is a bit weak but has some good thinking.
I was really shocked by the "Build Things For Yourself" slide, mostly because it comes from a Google guy. The user you know better is yourself, so make something that really works for you. From local to universal, somehow on the lines of the Huddle presentation: think local, concentrate your efforts and start building from there.
    excellent, thanks Marcus
